Why SOPA is bad

This is a great talk on TED.com about why the SOPA/PIPA laws that the media and content industries are trying to get passed is bad news for everyone.

The only part of the talk that I'm a bit at odds with is the baker that ended up refusing to draw designs on their cakes that had been drawn by their customers, such as drawings of Mickey Mouse or the Little Mermaid, because it infringed copyright laws against Disney. If someone were to use one of my designs on a cake and sell it to someone I'm not sure how different that is to Nike taking one of my images and using it in an Ad campaign. No matter how big or small a company is, copyright does apply to everyone. If someone was to print one of my images from the internet and stick it on their bedroom wall because they liked it I wouldn't care about that and there is a distinction between sharing simply to share and sharing to make a profit.
But other than that its a great talk... and the guy talking kind of looks like a bald Tom Hanks.
